I was checking out the short document on the Voat API and noticed there isn't any listed authentication mechanism available. I assume API users are limited to what are non-authenticated guest would see.
Are there any plans to allow some type of user authentication on the API with Voat?
Edit: I also checked Voat's source code and there definitely isn't any authentication mechanism available. Without it, 3rd party apps become difficult because a user can't get the same experience as the website.

A new version of voat API is currently being developed by @puttitout which will include authentication. I had a chance to take a sneak peak at it and it's pretty robust, if I dare say so ;)

That's awesome, I can't wait!
What kind of authentication mechanism are you planning to use? Please, for the love of god, if you use OAuth use an authentication method within it that most standard libraries support and don't just do a lazy redirect! I'm looking at you Eve Online..

We are here and waiting. I'm interested in making a "Reddit Now" experience for voat. Anyone else who also has android experience want to team up?
