Download, install, run. It's just a modified Firefox browser that happens to run through tor network.

Set "security level" to "standard" and use noscript if you want to manage what can run.

If you want to take full advantage of Tor, it's better to run this in VMs using Whonix. But just using the Tor Browser is simple and gets you most of the way there.

Yes.

The "security level" is a thing they added relatively recently as a built-in solution to replace noscript. But it's shit. And they're idiots for trying to reinvent the wheel. Noscript is an existing, dedicated solution for that and works far better for controlling what JS and other active components you want to allow or block. Their built-in security level breaks too many things, and provides no fine grained control to fix them. So it's best to just turn it off.
