I've explained how the blocked feature is supposed to work here. People have to understand a few things when complaining.

1) Voat's cache is slow, so if they block a subverse will will not disappear from /v/all immediately. 2) Blocking only removes subverses from /v/all, not the front page. The front page only consists of subverses you have subscribed to (unless you are subscribed to no subverses, in which case the front page is the /s/Default set, of which /v/aww is part. This might be the source of the issue; I'll check this out and post back. 3) If a user is subscribed to /v/aww and then blocks /v/aww, /v/aww will still appear on the front page.

When I click on front then top, it logs me out (thus I can see blocked subs) but doesn't make me log back in when I click on anything else (I just am logged in again). If I didn't use night mode it wouldn't be obvious. Could this be related?

That's a separate bug that has existed for a long time. I don't think it's related, no.
