I like to refer to this comic whenever someone brings up passwords: https://xkcd.com/936/

Generally, a sequence of words with a few numbers or symbols on either end to throw off dictionary crackers gives you a memorable password that's difficult to guess for both a human and a computer.

Or get a local password storing program, lock it down with a secure password, and use randomized passwords at max length for each site you register with. And make sure to backup the archive somewhere.
