Nice! This is a good call. It always bothered me on reddit to see one user moderating dozens of subs.

Including tons of defaults.

This is great news! Thanks Atko. Question: I have various subs and various 'test' subs that I use for CSS. These take up and put me to 12 subs. Should I just ask to have them reverted and use a single sub for testing (which is probably the best option).

The best option would be to use a single sub for all your CSS testing. You create your test posts and comments there and just switch the CSS when working on new styles for different subs and reuse the content.

Is this going to be a static limit, or is it going to scale with a larger community/greater number of verses?

Another question: does this only affect the creation of subs? Can someone be added as a moderator later and be put over the 10?

Yes, currently this only affects creation of subs. I will implement another check method later to limit the amount of subs one user can moderate.

I like this limit, but how does one go about forfeiting a subverse if he or she has a bit of too much on their hands?

This is what I want to know. I've tried deleting myself as a mod but it just takes me to a log in prompt. When I log in it loops me back to confirm whether or not to delete myself.

I suggest messaging / emailing /u/Atko and waiting for a response (if any) and see what goes. I've already did and am waiting at the moment.

Another suggestion would be to post something in the /v/whoaversedev or /v/ideasforwhoaverse subverses. Something I need to do but I'm currently waiting for broader support for such an idea.

So they have to make multiple alts and use tor to hide their ip's and then its just a bullshit number only 10 subs per alt..

Yea, 10 might be okay for now, but it's still a very low number.
