The fat cop is wrong, but also right. First of all they have to maintain situational awareness and if someone is circling around them they have to worry that they are about to be ambushed. That being said, the way it "popped" is unacceptable and the second cop is clearly more level headed and sensible.

Thin privilege is being able to turn your body without exhausting or overexerting oneself.

He was channeling his own Chris Farley there.

Can't tell full context, given the video length, and lack of documenting everything leading up to the stop. That said, yeah, that LEO really needs to have a wake up call on how life isn't fair, and even the police can be watched (even trolled as long as it does not break the law) in this digital age.

While the cop is a total bitch, the couple recording are total douchebags as well. This is not how you go about enforcing your rights.

They are total douchbags, but I'm glad it's not illegal to be a douchbag

In my opinion the cop from the sounds of it sounds like he's doing his job. What they were doing falls under (to name one) suspicious activity. Maybe I don't have the full context but that seems like legit police business. As soon as he lost it though I lost any sympathy with him, he was doing a good job until then.

If you become a cop these days your there because you like confrontation. Or you want to shoot someone. Cops get shit pay so only those things could possibly appeal to you. They take the job to be cock suckers to other people. Don't be surprised when you get shot for poking an armed retard with a stick.

I can completely understand why the officer was upset--he sees this guy as making a difficult job even more difficult. He was obviously psychologically distracted by the guy (albeit within his legal rights) following him around.

I don't know if it would work, but if I were the officer, I would have approached it a different way:

"I don't have a right to detain you, but I'd like to make you an offer. Since it feels like you are following me around, would you be interested in assisting us?" Enlist the guy in a neighborhood watch program. If he is willing to spend his time following cops around, see if he'd be willing to assist the police efforts.

However, it seems that the guy was more interested in watching every move the cops made, waiting for them to make a mistake and then call them out on it. That is hard in any profession. I had a boss who would literally sit behind you and watch you work, and question every little thing you did. That created near impossible working conditions.

That officer is making his own job more difficult then it has to be by not being in control of his emotions. Being an LEO is a hard job and it comes with a lot of responsibility and anyone in that position needs to be held to a high standard. If you can't cut it, which this guy sure doesn't seem to be able to, then you need to be removed from duty. If this was his first outburst then send him for additional training in handling situations like this but if this is a pattern with him he needs to find another line of work.

He should be given a choice between janitorial service at the station for the rest of his time in law enforcement or a different career.entirely. This isn't a man with the emotional maturity to keep himself calm when being asked routine questions by a citizen who is within their rights to ask those questions simply because he wants to flex his authority unquestioned and unimpeded.

The officer committed an act of Battery on the driver and should be fired from his department and charged with committing the crime under color of law to ensure nobody gives this high-school bully wash-out a badge and gun again.

This cop shouldn't be in charge of a laundromat, much less the enforcement of the law. Take his gun and badge and hand him a mop.
