They're going to start caring when refugee buildings start mysteriously burning down. Even a liberal populace can be pushed too far, and things will get out of control even without access to guns. If the German government truly cared about the wellbeing of the refugees they'd be going about this in a far smarter and safer way.

While I understand that democracy is lacking in Germany when compared to Switzerland, that's my point: that they didn't ask the people democratically and that those imposing undemocratic rules should therefore leave the country, as if Germany ought to have democracy like Switzerland.
