Not to countersignal, but the rock-hewn churches in Ethiopia (most impressive), the Great Mosque of Djenné (considerably less impressive), and "Great" Zimbabwe (least impressive) put his claims into some question. That being said, most of Africa's architectural feats are a far cry from architectural feats from the Ancient Greeks, Germans, Romans, Egyptians, Assyrians, Persians, Mesoamericans, Cambodians, Chinese, Japanese, the Indus Valley Civilization or just about any civilization of note.

And yes, the substance of his message is worthy of reflection and positive despite its harsh tone.
