Any commercial airliner experiencing a problem that would make you want to jump out of it would probably not be at full cruising altitude/speed, one would assume.
Why? Because of whiplash? I always thought there weren’t parachutes because of space limitations and liability over idiots who would try and jump out in non emergency situations

Lot’s of reasons.
You need to be trained to operate a parachute correctly or will seriously injure yourself - you’re in better hands to trust a pilot.
The slip stream would just slam the jumper back against the plane causing serious injury.
The weight of all the parachute would cause ticket prices to rise.
Space limitations would make airplanes even more crowded.

Both really, but nobody sane jumps out of a functioning aircraft going at cruising speed.
Well, except paratroopers, but I repeat myself... Nobody sane.
