The reason she can't answer that is because it's her job to treat all Schedule 1 drugs as equally as bad as each other.

All Schedule 1 drugs, in her on-the-job viewpoint, are addictive, bad, terrible, naughty, and there is nothing good about them--Period.

It's bullshit, but it's the truth. I believe another DEA head said, "Legalization is not in my vocabulary." The reason he said that is the same. It's their job to treat these particular drugs a certain way. Again, it's bullshit but that's why she's answering like this.

Yeah, it's something like " I'm sorry but my pay check will not allow me to answer this question truthfully."

I'm glad to be poor and still own my soul. I feel bad for people like this who have sold it for money.

Hats off to Rep. Polis though, Truth be Told!

I'm sure anyone could find something like that to say about anyone else. Morals are subjective. Who are you to judge them? I know nothing of that person's life so I have no right to judge their reasoning.

This is what's the most fucked up about this video. She is a freaking sheep. That job requires some kind of reasoning skill, someone who can tell the difference between right and wrong. She's just doing what she's told and that's just gross.

That was my interpretation of her stance... but to literally 'wind down the clock' by acting ignorant of questions she clearly knows the answer to should be punishable. Where we sit today in politics... I wouldn't expect what our system has become to have any logic in its practice though...

You are totally right. She cant say anything that will bring question or affect their budget or resources spending on something they admit is not addictive or as bad. What we are witnessing is her having a really shitty day at work. This guy is kind of a dick for making her look so silly when he fully knows the deal. He just lambasts her and she comes off looking stupid to anyone who doesn't realize that she cant answer truthfully and hope to keep her position or risk current or future investigations/budgets.

What a bunch of cagey non-answers. "All illegal drugs are addictive." Yeah, look at those mushroom and LSD junkies clamoring for their next hit.

It really is pathetic when we have research that has been conducted stating that psylocybin can actually help in aiding addiction...

Please stop using "natural" for the reason why something is safe.

Opium is also from a plant, yet it's pretty physically addictive.

Bears are natural and also pretty dangerous, last I checked.

While I agree that not all plants are beneficial... it doesn't change the fact that plants that hold medicinal properties are straight up punishable by 'law'. Imagine going to jail for the rest of your life for growing a plant to help a loved one with seizures. Please explain the logic there.

Fair enough. But my point was that the fact that it is a harmless plant is even more striking when you consider the fact that it is lumped in the same category as dangerous unproven chemical compounds.

Pure opium isn't nearly as dangerous as other addictive substances. An opium addiction can be sitting down for tea once a night to unwind or fall asleep. Compared to heroin or methamphetamine or krododil or xanax or dilaudid or nicotine or caffeine or any controlled opiate or Benzodiazepine it's pretty much a subtle addiction. Really no natural drug will leave you with a life altering addiction or dependency... It's when people fuck around that they end up getting burned.

In my view people don't so much actively buy into it as believe what they are told by the government, media, and other organizations; without looking into studies or evidence themselves. This ignorance is no excuse, and these agencies and organizations will never go against their interest/budget and admit something is not harmful and should be less regulated or enforced. That would mean smaller budget and lost revenue or job cuts. Govt agencies especially are always trying to show that they need MORE funding, not less. Its far more likely and easier for a substance to wind up on the list of drugs they are cracking down on/enforcing than for one to be removed.

Indeed. There are drug dealers make billions getting people hooked on their highly addictive product. They pour millions into convincing the public that they NEED their fix. They pay doctors to push their drugs on the naive and law enforcement backs them up. It's a sick world we have allowed these drug cartels (pharmaceutical companies) to build around us.

No one is willing to commit to any stance other than whats on paper, otherwise they could lose their job. Policitions should be our best, not our worst.

Being that it makes you sick. And I'm asking specifically about the cringyness of the uneducation. Would you say the uneducation of those answers is worst then marijuana? Yes or no or you don't know please.

yes. Being uneducated about drugs while working in the DEA is worse than marijuana. Although this had nothing to do with her being uneducated.
