I love time travel. This is cute, and a little dark.

I have seen it! It is mindfucky. Try Steins;Gate if you can stomach anime.

This is a great short film!

Much better than that feature length film, "Hot Tub Murder Box."

This was beautiful! Though I suspect the girl would be freaked out a lot more if some random guy just sat down next to her who was obviously creeping on her. Eh but who am I to talk about creeps.

Nah, you're thinking about Tumblrina's. Tumblrina's don't go outside.

I can say from experience that "let's go back to your place and fuck our brains out" has a surprisingly high success rate as an opening line. The downside is the other 99.9% of the time.

That was quite an awesome video. Definitely explains why no time traveler ever showed back up in history. Wouldn't want to confuse the masses. Haha

Well, you are assuming every time traveler (if indeed possible) is extremely ethical and/or follows some moral code. If this theory about the parallel universe death thing is actually true and time travel was possible, we should be seeing people drop dead like flies even if you go in the future.

[–] prium 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Well with the theory in the video it is possible that we are in the first universe and time travel hasn't been invented yet. After its invention people will be unable to travel to the past in this universe, so we would remain unaffected.

Really enjoyed that, it correlates with my own suspicions that teleportation, if it ever becomes reality, will require the death\destruction of the original and recreation of a copy with the same memories at the destination. Nobody is going to beam me anywhere.

What if fundamentally, we are no different than dust floating in the wind? Simply matter and nothing more? And that our feelings and thoughts are merely products of minor electric currents? What if we're just no different from our electronic devices, just a bit more complex? And that basically we really don't have a soul? What if even though we have the ability to destroy the world a dozen times over, we are still nothing more and it's merely matter changing places?

What if fundamentally, we are no different than dust floating in the wind?

Then we would need an extreme amount of non-lethal energy to break us apart, transport, and reassemble.

And that our feelings and thoughts are merely products of minor electric currents?

Those minor electric currents better re-assemble in the same place as when they were broken. I love my wife... I have no intention on letting a teleporter change that.

I think most of what your asking is true, and I don't have anyone to think about it with.

Pretty sure that is how most of the world understands it, just the religious nutters that think differently.

If you want to look even further into that, you can also point out that matter is nothing more then energy fields acting against each other so nothing in the universe really exists in the physical sense that most people tie with the term "existence".

One of my favourite comics explores this idea, it's an interesting debate. I would certainly be happy to use a teleportation machine.

What else is there but the present moment? Past is just a memory, the future is hypothetical.

The movie "The Prestige" sort of dances around the idea of teleportation in a cool way, while also being about magicians, haha.
