The moral high ground is a highly valuable strategic asset in any prolonged conflict.

It is not to be squandered lightly, especially through a lack of discipline.

There is a huge difference between public relations and fire fights, both are nasty but only one will kill you. There has never been a poor bastard on this planet that has won a war by dieing for the moral high ground.

Not talking about public relations - talking about esprit de corps.

Firing the first shot is an act of cowardice - powerful allies do not rally to support the acts of cowards.

Save the dirty work until after the real fighting has begun.

Then finish it.

A belief in the justice of the cause is important - especially so you can live with yourself afterwards with the things you have done.
