Its important in only a moral sense. When the media people in the middle believe is controlled by the far left, it won't matter who ACTUALLY fired the first shot, it will only matter how it is portrayed. Just look at Berkeley. If the mayor isn't in antifa outright, hes a sympathizer, and there seems to be evidence that he has used the police department as an instrument for said terrorist organization.

The moral high ground is a highly valuable strategic asset in any prolonged conflict.

It is not to be squandered lightly, especially through a lack of discipline.
