Can someone explain to me why men have attached themselves to the fad of "vocal fry?" This guy ends every other sentence by trailing off with an effeminate vocal fry on the last word or two.

youtubers copying others.Same thing with people using popular phrases. like "cash me outside" or "real talk" or "catch a fade"
They hear others say/do it and think its cool and want to be in on it to.
One in particular is the long articulated first word in a youtube intro. ie "Welllllcome" "Wuuuuuuuuuats up its captain fizzywins-make-sure-to-SMmmash-that-like-button-I-waist-7min-toget-to-the-actual-point-and-POSSIBLY-the-thumbnail-here-we-go!"
