Yeah, I always wondered why Motorcycle cops wear these uniforms, instead of regular gear. it really looks like a traditional throwback to the mounted police.
Also, they way they ride...That makes me cringe. I ride sportbikes and there were a couple of cops that were part of the group I regularly rode with. They wouldn't ride in the staggered line, but next to each other in the lane. It made me so damn nervous.
One thing, I can say about having cops in the group. We lost a rider due to an MVA on his bike (RIP White Rabbit). The family decided that they wanted his ashes scattered on one of the roads that make up the Twisted Sisters in central Texas. There was a HUGE procession, probably more than 200 bikes in all. These cops escorted the run under full lights and at a very interesting pace. They did an amazing job on a rough day.
