Does anybody who's old enough to vote, I understand 12 year old kids, but does any adult actually give a rats ass what any single celebrity has to say about anything, especially politics?

He and all of the other asshat celebrities vomit anger and hatred about [insert favorite candidate] like they have a grasp on reality and we're all supposed to change our minds because of their opinions.

Does he actually believe that people will say stuff like, "I was going to vote for Trump, but since George Clooney said Trump is bad , I had better listen to Clooney because he's an actor who makes a living pretending to be something he''s not, he's so intelligent, has such a great grasp on reality, and he personally knows what's best for this country because of all his years of experience in politics and foreign affairs, I better vote for the more qualified candidate (because George Clooney said so) and vote for Clinton"?

Like the title says, F**k George Clooney!

Sadly, yes. There are people that will vote a party no matter who wins the primaries. What they stand for doesn't matter so long as they have the D or R next to their name.

As for your example, I doubt that it would influence someone who supported Trump, but it would influence the ill informed voter who cares more about who's going to win on Dancing With The Stars than who will try to decrease their taxes. Whenever someone publicly shows support for a candidate, that is just trying to influence those who don't care about politics and just cares about popularity.

Speaking from personal experience and experiencing it with many other oeople, YES! A lot of people don't have mentors or the want/desire for truth and critical thinking and skeptisism. Most people get their political thinking from 1) their favorite political tv comedy; 2) their role model (which is sickly mainly tv stars and not parental figures or what not); and 3) the people around them.

So many people listen to these people because they think that because this person is on TV and gets attention that their viewpoint is valid....honestly I'd go as far to say that 70% of American adults get their political views from the above mentioned means, and I think it has alot to do with social proof and social pressure.

Trump is a celebrity, and a lot of people do seem to care about what he has to say about politics (despite the fact that he's proven over and over he knows nothing about how this country is actually run).

I agree with your sentiment... It confuses me sometimes why we pay such attention to celebrity in this country. But with that said, it's worth mention that Congress itself has listened to many celebrities testify about various issues, Clooney included.

So sadly, yes, there are adults that give a rats ass about what they have to say about things, even adults in positions of power.

Lebanese Hezbollah are fighting in Syria and Iraq against ISIS, so not every muslim is bad. I think the ethnic background of his wife is not a problem, the real problem is that Clooney is a liberal prick who has lost touch with reality.

Of course it's a problem, when she's a human right lawyer and peddling the 'Muslims are the perpetual victims of everything, and their violence is justified' meme through her husband.

Technically, according to your link, she is Druze not Muslim. I had not heard of Druze until now.

These people virtue signal these things, as it doesn't ever negatively effect them. They are rich, they can afford massive estates with large walls, they can afford private security teams, so rapefugees aren't really ever going to be their problem. It's easier for them to just go along with the status quo, instead of standing up for the decisions that they make when it's their own ass on the line.

Fear is not gonna be something that drives our country?

And he's trying to scare people away from Trump? That's literally all any anti-Trump propaganda is... just more fear. What a bunch of bullshit.

I'm glad somebody else picked up on that.
"Fear isn't going to drive us...but be afraid of that guy over there. He's the real problem."

I didn't know he was on the list of asshats that will leave the country if Trump wins.

If/when Trump wins the presidency we should tweet the hell out of every single one of them demanding that they keep their promise and leave.

Whoopi Goldberg was the first to start this crap this election. It would be nice if everybody got together and notified every sponsor of "The View" and let them know that we are boycotting their product as long as Whoopi Goldberg is in this country. Once they get wind that profits are being lost because of her, they can't kick her out of the country, but I guarantee it they will make damn sure that's she's fired. The only reason why the show is on the air to begin with has everything to do with what the sponsors make in profits.

This would send a message to the rest of the douche bag celebrities that think they're above the little people and act like they have a grasp on reality and they're the only one's that knows what's best the country and we should just do whatever they say.

I'm just talking about the general trend and the look on his face when/if trump wins. These people seem to love predicting how he'll never get any farther, then he does, and they're speechless. Afaik he hasn't actually promised to do so.

Eh... I dunno, I think it's find just to let them stew in the burst bubble of their own arguments. I'd rather not get into the business of policing people's opinions, even famous people. If he was doing it in his movies then I'd stop watching them, but if it's on his own time then that's his right.
