the intelligence level in this thread is embarrassing... rabies.. small critters that would normally run are suspect when they act aggressive... myself and my dog have been attacked by a skunk in broad daylight... rabies, not even once.

That was my first thought. Then immediately thought about watching 28 days later.

There has not been a single case of a squirrel infecting a human with rabies. Downvoat if you'd like, but you won't be able to find one anywhere.

Feel free to have a picnic with your family and a squirrel then. The rest of us, we're going to play it safe.

It doesn't have to infect. If it bites or scratches one of the students the cop will get complaints of parents, have to write reports, defend his actions and the rest of the squirrel and pony show.

I got to give it to the officer for not tell them it might have rabies. These special ed kids probably couldn't handle that kind of information and probably would have ran about freaking out, some passing out from panic, some running out into traffic and getting killed.

I'm not impressed with the goofy bitch teacher that didn't have these kids in line. WTF? School board meetings need to bring this up; examples of bad child supervision.

Thanks for making me a bit less ignorant. This is why rather read comments than run the outrage machine.

Completely legit reason why he does it and any cop who doesn't would be an insult to protecting people.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabies_in_animals

"...known as furious rabies due to the tendency of the affected animal to be hyperreactive to external stimuli and bite at anything near"

Guys, chill the fuck out. It's not like he even killed the thing.

If it indeed had rabies he should have killed it to stop the spread of rabies. However, it seems like the completely clothed officer is afraid of a socialized squirrel, which to be honest is pretty pathetic in and of itself. Rabies will show in many other ways other than just "aggressive behavior" such as stumbling, erratic behavior, frothing at the mouth, and yes aggression. The officer proves he is a coward, incompetent to deal with the situation, and even if it was rabies, manages to fuck that up too. There really isn't any way to defend this guy.

But can we be real for a second? These same people losing their minds on youtube comments and whatnot would probably applaud someone who got an abortion than inconvenienced them. But that poor squirrel...

Props to the cop for just pepper spraying and not blindly shooting.

Why waste a bullet when you can spray it then stomp it?

I hate squirrels. Their death is my happiness.
