I never thought I'd have to make any rules for this sub but here it is. This sub is for discussing anything to do with video games. I will even allow debate over things like is playing video games healthy, links to studies about gaming that could show its negative impacts, etc. as long as people stay respectful and the debate is progressing. (Please note: I will never delete posts if the debate rages out of control and I end up banning a user unless it somehow violates a voat policy or some sort of law.)
This sub is not intended to be a circlejerk about gaming. Gamers are people and sometimes people do bad things to themselves, their loved ones, or strangers. These acts can either be direct "Guy who play video game shoots up XYZ! Did Duke Nukem teach him the skills he needed?!" or indirect "Man addicted to WoW and 2d dating sims loses job and family goes homeless!" etc.
It is my personal belief and I'm sure many of yours as well that these things do not happen because those perpetrators played video games but its just a coincidence because as I said before Gamers ARE People. Before video games Heavy Metal and Devil Worship were to blame for violent crimes. Losing your home or family because of an addiction? Drinking, Drugs, Gamblings, etc. People have addictive personalities and can get hooked on anything.
HOWEVER if you come here just to insult video games, people who play games, or post spam about something else you will be banned.
I'm posting this up for discussion because my personal policy is to avoid censorship in any form. However if you go to an Automotive Subverse and complained said they were idiots for paying all that money to buy cars when you could just buy a game and drive them in there and then started ranting about that one guy who played F1 Simulator and is now a professional driver I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want your shit there either so that's why I think this rule is fair.
EDIT: This has been up for about 24 hours so I'm going to unsticky it. Please feel free to leave input or feedback here or message me directly.
