Why do the links go 0-4, a letter after the number, and then repeat back to 0 and go to the next letter?
The links started at 1 and are just incrementing in base-36 (with a few places where it skips over about 10k, just because sql server is strange like that). I might switch to randomly generated ids at some point, but meh, this works well enough.
Also why is 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, and 1f all the same picture?
The person who uploaded them must have done so five times for some reason. The server detected this and pointed all five links at the same data, so there's no wasted storage, but it still generated a new link so it could have its own view count and stuff.
