Moffat was not the show runner when he left. I agree with you, he was great, but he's not the kind of guy who acts all cool with the hype of the character. Well, it's his right.

As soon as this nipple twister disavowed his role as the ninth Doctor; I disavowed Eccleston as a legitimate actor, and was disappointed that he never truly embraced Doctor Who. He did fine with the show now lets look at David Tennet, and Matt Smith they are doing great both moving on to great roles. They still even acknowledge that Doctor Who was their favorite roles as actors.

Ninth doctor was my favourite doctor. I have no idea why he didn't continue the series, some kind of personal reasons.

I wish he would have showed up for the special episodes.
