Ok, we've all had things that just disappear.Typically, the first reaction is you've misplaced it and write it off despite scratching your head continuously about it. You say to yourself, "well, something must have happened logically for it to go missing" That would be the normal reaction. These "things" are typically small and easily replaced. Or not. But one thing they all have in common is that they can be easily explained away. Telling someone else about it doesn't rank high on the "holy shit" meter and is therefore useless to bring up. The default response is always poor memory or just lost. The plausible deniability outweighs any paranormal reason. But what if it' designed that way? Coming home and finding your TV gone and the door still locked for example, is way too obvious of fuckery. Hear me out.
I lost my reading glasses a few months back in my apartment. There aren't many places where I would lose them but after searching high and low I wrote it off as leaving them elsewhere. Would either be on the table, kitchen counter or bathroom. I got a new pair and had them for several weeks/months until recently. I was fully cognizant of the following chronological order. I had them on my shirt like sunglasses when I pulled up to my job. I got out of the car and got my high vis vest. I put on the vest and noticed my safety glasses in the left outer pocket, placed my reading glasses in the same pocket knowing they were both tangled up and will not fall out I proceeded to open my trunk and get tools etc., and walked into the warehouse. I met with my client and proceeded to discuss the job I was there for. I reached into my pocket to get my reading glasses and they were gone. Safety glasses still there. Stunned, I didn't say a word but for the rest of the day I was "what the fuck?"
Naturally, after I was done I searched the trunk and all the shit I have in there. No glasses. I must have looked 4 or 5 times and being two or three weeks since, I just looked again because the 3rd pair I got from cheap dollar store broke. If they fell out, they would be on top of everything anyway. So, now I'm about the rip everything out of my car for some worthless reading glasses that should be visible immediately and I got to thinking. If your tv disappeared like that, there's no plausible deniability. That would be a holy shit moment to someone, but not my glasses. Even if I don't ever find them after cleaning the car. I can only guess there's some fuckery that happens from time to time and whatever is doing it can't mess with "the prime directive" (for any star trek fans). if you know what I mean? And let's say I do find them. My car is a MESS. I've got a 6' ladder in there with 100' of extension cord along with a tool box, bucket, boxes, tools, straps etc. To fall out of my pocket while tangled up with safety glasses and make it to the bottom of that would be next to impossible.
Anyway, that's what I wanted to talk about.
