I am an American. I have memorized my SSN (since the age of 12).

I had to reorder a card, because it is necessary to have as well as photo ID.

I used to resent being asked to prove my born right of citizenship.

But, I no longer take it personal. I didn't give in, I just understand the validity of the basis for the request.

I will continue to prove I am, who I am.

Otherwise, someone else will.

And I am blessed to be legit.

To ease your feelings on being asked, remember that no one is clairvoyant. They can't know you are a citizen until they see that proof.
