We live on an island where roads are narrow. Our car was old and on its last legs. My wife wanted a Honda Jazz because it's small but has a large luggage area and I was OK with this. But the cheapest used one we could find was #7,500.
My mom passed away and left me #4000. It wasn't enough to buy what we wanted. But two weeks later we were driving back from town and passed a used car lot that we'd already looked around. My wife happened to turn around and spotted a Honda at the very front of the lot. She shouted me to stop.
We took a look at the car. It was old but in good condition. The price was #4,800 and the salesman offered us #2000 for our wreck! (It was only worth #900 at the most.) We bought the car and we're still running it 3 years later. Afterwards we heard that our old wreck wouldn't move an inch after we left it with the salesman. The autobox computer had failed and it cost the dealer #700 to get it replaced.
Yeah, yeah, "coincidence". But I'm certain that my mom was guiding us.
