We're lucky with food here, cows eat grass like they're supposed to so the meat is generally very good. Chickens peck at seeds and worms in the ground (except for battery chickens but they're the cheap ones found in supermarkets) and aren't fed corn as much here.. I live in the countryside and there are a lot of farms around here, many of which have their own shops so you can buy directly from them. So much better than buying from supermarkets..
I have to admit, because of this lockdown nonsense, I've taken time off to just stop and relax for a while. I've needed a break anyway as I'm always on the road and it's difficult to eat properly.. I've been eating a lot of red meat as I generally bake some fish, sweet potato and veg for speedy cooking but not much variety.. I've enjoyed eating beef stews and spag bol more often even though red meat should be eaten in moderation. I've been making up for it lol, feel better for it too..
AUKA, so important to help remind people about food, and the way the animals are fed. our tribe was blessed because all the animals were free range. and stews were a big part of our diet, with bone broth and getting collagen and bone broth. pretty much what the people all were doing in the old days. and lived to be pretty old, then fast foods came, made life easier, and our nutritional values went into the toilet. and people health went down also. I wondered why they had considered milk healthy only after the removed all the nutrition, and then bad mouthed butter but embraced margarine, which now is getting bad mouthed and Butter praised, then why do they want you to throw away the nutritional value of the egg, and eat what has little values, while I am not Doctor, we as Lakota knew the importance of protein, fat and all to survive the hard winters. now to survive daily it required hard work daily, so people were active, now many jobs are sitting in a chair, I wonder if that has more of a effect then what you may eat. also the stress levels were less back in the old days, what part does the stressed out society play in our health, and then all the crap they now put in foods, what role does that play. Time for us all to take a good look and see if this was not all programmed for us to fail. How can I eat healthy if all the food in the sore is filled by crap ? It is not that they had not heard the harm done to children with vaccinations, India made it clear and so have others, why was it ignored ?
Minerals come from bones and the marrow. I have to admit, I only use the meat in my stews, not the bone. Agree about milk and butter though. Only whole fat milk and butter for me. Skimmed milk is revolting, as well as pointless - just coloured water with no nutritional value at all, and margarine is a couple of molecules away from plastic.
I did a personal training course a few years ago and a big part of the course was nutrition. Margarine is basically a transfat which stops cells from releasing energy (atp) during exercise (or general physical exertion). Another health fad is excluding skin from chicken and other meat fats from the diet. Fats produce nerve and brain cells which might explain why many of these people come across as being quite dim.
