But with 368 patients, it’s the largest look so far of hydroxychloroquine with or without the antibiotic azithromycin for COVID-19, which has killed more than 171,000 people as of Tuesday. A malaria drug widely touted by President Donald Trump for treating the new coronavirus showed no benefit in a large analysis of its use in U.S. veterans hospitals. There were more deaths among those given hydroxychloroquine versus standard care, researchers reported.
The nationwide study was not a rigorous experiment. But with 368 patients, it’s the largest look so far of hydroxychloroquine with or without the antibiotic azithromycin for COVID-19, which has killed more than 171,000 people as of Tuesday.
The study was posted on an online site for researchers and has has not been reviewed by other scientists. Grants from the National Institutes of Health and the University of Virginia paid for the work.
Researchers analyzed medical records of 368 male veterans hospitalized with confirmed coronavirus infection at Veterans Health Administration medical centers who died or were discharged by April 11.
About 28% who were given hydroxychloroquine plus usual care died, versus 11% of those getting routine care alone. About 22% of those getting the drug plus azithromycin died too, but the difference between that group and usual care was not considered large enough to rule out other factors that could have affected survival"
but the MSM didn't bother talking about that...

One of the reporters at the press conference was fear mongering about HCQ, saying it was killing people in trials etc.. He was almost obsessive about it.

Brazil had an HCQ trial too....and they stopped giving it because they were overloading critical patients with very high doses.

So overdosing them which would finish off anyone, no matter what the medication was.. I've read that zinc needs to be used in conjunction with HCQ to make sure it enters the blood cells or something like that..
It's funny, I have a neighbour who is a critical nurse. A couple of weeks ago, she was called to 'the front line' here in the UK. Not sure where about though. I joined a conversation between her and another neighbour last weekend. The other neighbour was asking how things were going etc, nurse was saying that there were about 100 people they were looking after but seemed very vague about it all which made me think she was plucking numbers out of her head. The big temporary hospitals we see on TV are all empty, even the media is commenting on that so I didn't really believe what she was saying. Another reason was that she seems to be spending much of her time at home with her kids so things can't be that critical.. Her car has been parked next to mine for pretty much the whole time and it hasn't moved. As I'm at home, I can see who is driving in and out here.
Anyway, the other neighbour went into 20 questions about the care and in a break from the questioning, I asked if the doctors were using HCQ to help these people. The nurse said no in a confused way but the other neighbour shot down my question because 'that's what Trump keeps going on about'. Full blown TDS in action.
That said it all to me. I wonder whether the nurse has been instructed to 'exaggerate' the situation because there is no situation in the first place. And as for the other neighbour, it's incredible how ignorant people can be and they think they're informed and that they know what they're talking about when they clearly don't because 'Orange Man Bad'. They've even gone as far as banning the cleaner from cleaning the hallway because they're petrified of catching something..
Rather oddly, the nurse walked past my window afterwards and happened to glance in, saw me and gave me a very odd look. The next conversation might be quite interesting. Recently I've been dropping 'controversial' ideas which might have spread so I've been getting funny looks from everyone..!
