Slavery ended in 1863. That's like 15 decades ago, not 5.

Entirely true. Don't try to pull out some bullshit article about how the official ending of slavery was not really the end of slavery, because of some agenda driven, subjective mental gymnastics. Using revisionist propaganda is shameful, at the least.

The end of slavery has a factual date. For more enlightenment on the actual end of slavery, you could research the laws from various states, and territories during the era, and also the often (almost always these days) overlooked history of the freed slaves. Many regions ended slavery many years prior to 1865.
