Last night my PC (running Windows 10) started having internet issues.
Some things work fine. Other things don't. For example, Skype and FFXIV (one of the reasons I'm dual-booting Windows) run fine. But I can't load some web pages. Imgur, Google stuff, my FUCKING UNIVERSITY STUDENT PORTAL WHERE I NEED TO SUBMIT ASSESSMENTS TOMORROW, they won't work.
Internet speeds are all over the place. I will, randomly, get a burst of speed that will then die out the ass. I'm using a rainmeter network monitor to keep an eye on things. What's weird is that rainmeter isn't registering an assigned IP address to this PC. There is one listed in the modem (it's assigned there) and I'm using ethernet (not a WiFi issue) but rainmeter can't see the IP address which it has done previously.
All other devices are working fine. No internet issues with those at all. It's just this one PC and only when running Windows 10.
EDIT: BTW, I should mention that even loading the actual router's management pages (via 192.168.0.1) will sometimes time out and fail. I'm 90% sure it is a Windows issue and not a hardware or router issue.
EDIT 2: The solution appeared to be disabling my anti virus software momentarily (in this case I was using Avast) and my internet started working properly again, at which point I could update things (Windows Update had stalled due to lack of internet speed) and now things are back to normal.
