That's not entirely true, you CAN sideload uwp apps, but

a. Why would you want to?

b. Its off by default, and the option is buried pretty deep. The average user won't change that setting, and it has apocalyptic warnings of viruses when you try to disable it, even though a rouge x86 app can do just as much (or actually more) damage.

c. Who's to say MS doesn't remove this ability later.

Yes, I really, really, want to see Google wreck Microsoft's policy of charging $100 per copy of Windows when we build a consumer PC. That would be awesome. Microsoft is already being squeezed when it comes to pre-installed Windows on low-cost devices, even forced to give it away in many cases!

Interestingly enough, Firefox says "pre-installed" is a misspelling. When I right-click on it, one of the suggestions is "pee-installed" (I am not joking). That's pretty hilarious.

It'll take Google 10 years to get it to function right. I just have 0 faith in them doing anything related to operating systems, they just can't get right.
