If I understand correctly this means that it will be possible to integrate a computer display into a contact lens. What would be truly amazing is if we couple this tech with quantum entanglement teleportation which has also been experiencing some major breakthroughs. The two together would mean you can be connected to the internet through nothing more than your eyes. This would allow for virtually limitless possibilities including:
-Altered reality and virtual reality far beyond what we have now
-Real time information processing such as displaying peoples names, identifying plants and animals, directions, etc
-Instant scientific information for researchers, such as on the fly chemical analysis for chemists
-Revolution in the education system

On the other hand there is also the possibility of significant negative consequences and of this being used nefariously
-Massive privacy violations and black mirror-esque changes to society
-Big brother spying on everyone through their friends and families eyes
-Advertising and malware
-Degeneration of society further into the paradigm of social media vs real interaction

Why do we need to breakout into quantum entanglement theory to make this a reality? Wouldn't TCP/IP over wireless be sufficient?

How are you going to build a signal receiver into someones contact lens?
