To be absolutely honest, as a goat, "Quality content and friendly atmosphere" is kind of debatable. It IS the internet. And I think we can all safely agree that certain individuals are not the friendliest on this. Let's not forget where almost half of our userbase comes from.

Edit: P.S. referring to coontown, niggers and those other racist subs that spread like a virulent disease on the website. FPH are sometimes bad with their antics but they mostly keep to themselves and can remain civil.

I agree "friendly atmosphere" might be a bit of a stretch. A lot of people here are people that were banned from reddit for un-PC views so the content and comments frequently reflect that.

Don't get me wrong, I think people should be allowed to be racist, sexist, etc. but the fact some of the comments are not downvoated to hell is sometimes disconcerting.

Hey look, you have an opinion and i'm not down voting you, weird....maybe we should set up 200 shill accounts and bury you under the disrespectful/wanna-be-joke comments.

Hubski and Quora have friendly atmospheres. I could (probably) have a conversation about whatever and not have an issue. Here? It's just a matter of time until someone calls someone else an SJW or a cuck or some stupid shit like that (or the personal favorite, accusing a mod of censorship) and starts whipping the mob into a frenzy of downvotes.

"The downvoat button is not a 'disagree' button".

The reddit refugees we're letting in need to realize this. Downvoat spam, shitposts, trolls, etc. Don't downvoat people's opinions just because you don't agree with them; that's what the "reply" button is for.

but the fact some of the comments are not downvoated to hell is sometimes disconcerting.

I think part of this is people who appreciate that the person is allowed to express such troubling views.

But I agree with you.

Not trying to be non friendly. Just wanted to share the link. I am newer to voat but an active user on reddit.

Sorry if this appeared to be hostile. Not my intention.

[–] BustyChicksFTW 1 points 18 points (+19|-1) ago  (edited ago)

LMFAO. Hahaha you'll soon learn if you go on on /v/news or try to state an opinon on /v/whatever sometimes. It can turn ugly but that's just the internet.

Edit: P.S. I know he's also fucking around guys.

[–] Arotaes_Forgehammer 1 points 15 points (+16|-1) ago

Don't worry, you didn't come off as hostile at all. Welcome to Voat!

[–] TheTrigger 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago  (edited ago)

D'aw, it's so cute. He's apologizing for something he really doesn't have to. Don't worry, the more you comment here, the more you realize you don't have any vindictive moderators to be afraid of. Go ahead, call someone a faggot. Feels good, man.

[–] twomoreandatinkle 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Welcome to voat.

[–] didntsayeeeee 2 points 4 points (+6|-2) ago

I dunno, compared to most of reddit I think it's pretty friendly.

I think the difference is that when people disagree with you here they disagree with you but they don't act like you shouldn't even be allowed to say that.

[–] CobraStallone 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

How dare you.

[–] DoomMantia 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

I think it's well over half, between FPH and the racists, both groups banned from reddit for running subs dedicated to hate other groups.

Really, Voat is not friendly, and I like it that way.
