Problem is most companies use Google products. I don't try not to use Google, but thinking about if I could even break away from Google products, I realize how often they would be forced on me by others for work things. Some of our standups are on Google Hangouts, my work email is through Google Apps, every meeting or event is linked by a GCal event, etc.

What's so hard about that?

I mainly used Gmail and YouTube. I simply use Tutanota and host my own MediaGoblin instance now.

I can understand businesses relying on Google apps having a hard time transitioning though, but a common user for the most part I imagine relies on either Gmail (email provider) or YouTube (a video sharing platform).
