Well, if you absolutely need the top-notch media editing software, you can always run it in a Windows VM. You probably could even run it in an XP one if it's just for offline stuff.

For gaming and video editing there's pci passthrough but it's a huge pain in the ass to set up. Once there's a "push button solution" maybe it will gain wider adoption but for now it's not very viable.
