+1 for qBittorrent. Feels like classic uTorrent to me, absolutely love it.

even better, that 'download in sequential order' feature sold it for me.

Been using qBittorrent for some time now. It is fantastic in my humble opinion.

Have stayed with uTorrent's 2.2.1 (build 25110), turned off updates and have been using it since. No issues - screw all the other updates after that version - it was the best version. Looks like it's out there on oldversion, for anyone interested.

What kills me is the audacity. They couldn't have really expected to get away with this for very long. A good portion of the people who use your software are very far from technologically inept, and bitcoin miners aren't exactly subtle. Anyone who pays attention to their computer is going to wonder why their CPU/GPU usage is spiking like crazy when they're doing absolutely nothing, not to mention they're probably sending tons of connections to the blockchain so that anyone who even mildly monitors their network traffic is going to see something is up.

This was just absolutely bonkers. They've really hung themselves with this, as if the ads and the bloatware weren't enough, this will surely be a killing blow for them.

Good riddance. That just means more support for better alternatives.

People still use uTorrent? I would recommend Deluge to anybody reading this. It's Open Source, powerful, and private.

That's some really shady shit. I would never use uTorrent after this.

uTorrent has been the WostPossibleChoiceâ„¢ for awhile now. Remember how they got bought out by the MPAA?

uTorrent was already becoming crap, but this takes it to a whole new level.

Misleading title/article, am I on reddit? Its not a quiet installation, it says right here "Decline offer/Accept offer" - http://i.imgur.com/6oY2bLh.png
More proof its not a silent install - http://youtu.be/unPKbxGOxWI

have you read the article?

Update: The silent install appears to happen selectively, and not on all machines. TF had confirmation from various sides and with screenshots of every step of the install process where no Epic Scale screen appeared. In one case, the opt-out screen was eventually shown after several re-installs.

I tried it myself and it was actually a silent install. It also happened to some others.
