I know their subscriber numbers are totally bogus, that's obvious to me. We used to fake those numbers, too, when we were little, so I can't blame them for that."

"We totally cheated on subscribers number but it's ok to do so, so everybody is probably doing it."

What a fucking piece of shit

He's saying it was when they started, not necessarily now.

That being said, if he was willing to fake numbers then, why would he stop?

Even though it seems especially corrupt, this is actually a really common outlook on early company performance for start-ups. The idea comes from Eric Reis's "MVP," or minimum viable product. You just want to get what's required out immediately, and then iterate over it and fix issues as they arise. Recently, this outlook has shifted from being functionality-focused to appearance-focused. So, it doesn't matter if your start-up product is buggy, as along as it looks good and sounds good to investors. It's this way of thinking that excuses things like fudging numbers -- it's a kind of "growth hack" that is seemingly innocuous and can have a big payoff. I don't mean to justify it, it's definitely a very shitty way to do business, and indicates a profound lack of personal character. Just saying that this is a common philosophy in the valley.

If someone wants to promote their suppositions, they probably need to find a more credible place than the realm of moon hoaxes, 2nd gunmen, and 'micro-thermite'.

I only submit in /r/CenturyClub where it won't be advertised, and siphon off content.

Some asshat worldnews mod tried to insinuate that I have "dual loyalties" when in reality I'm actively trying to kill reddit by siphoning off users, especially the most active ones (CC).

It's complete garbage. No news on the front page, just pictures of the same cats we see month in and out, and shitty memes. Oh and Bernie Sanders spam.

Legally, that puts them in a bad spot. In order to get/maintain a trademark, a requirement is that you actively use and defend that trademark. Opting to not protect their trademark now could result in them losing the ability to keep it in the future.
