Personally, I think a hundred years is a little optimistic. Shit is already getting bad, and its only going to get worse.

My biggest fear isn't revolution, its that any revolution in America will be so fractured and factitious that it'll have no chance of success.

Well now are starting to agree a bit! I definitely think our current democratic state, is a bit of a sham.

People will come together to fight, hopefully. The US military (an some other nations around the globe) is so powerful, I fear a measly revolution couldn't help us. We may have a 75% gun ownership, but they're not automatic M16's. We may want to fight till the bitter end, but we'd need factions of the military to support us. With no artillery, satellites, chemical weapons- what are we to do.

I will say that I find it hard to believe the Armed Forces will turn against the government in any meaningful way. My best friend is Marine, just redeployed last week, and he's told me some stories. I don't care to repeat them here, as that would be a breach of his trust, but suffice to say, it doesn't give me much faith in our military being on the right side of a revolution.
