I'm under the impression that China is a corporate shithole where the wealthy can just run people over and get away with it. Regardless, Communism is an economic model, not a political one. You can democratically elected your leaders and still have a "communist" economy.

Of course, no nation to date has implemented "true" communism. They all go the full totalitarian route, and instead of giving means of production over to the people of the nation, consolidate that power in the hands of their despots.

They tried to get 'true' communism, it doesn't work. Give people power, they will abuse it. The government is made up of people. Don't trust people, don't trust the government.

Obviously we still want/need a government though. Best we keep it on a tight leash, with many checks and balances. Of course, that's what the USA was going for. People have, over the years, abused their power- and over stepped their limits. Obama bombing Libya for 'national security' is a good example; should of asked our congress for permission.

Revolutions are a necessary part of being free. Governments start out pretty decent, they go sour; idc where you live. Here in about 100 years, we may have to give it another go.

Personally, I think a hundred years is a little optimistic. Shit is already getting bad, and its only going to get worse.

My biggest fear isn't revolution, its that any revolution in America will be so fractured and factitious that it'll have no chance of success.
