I have mixed feelings about this. As in, "Yaay. We're getting noticed!" But also, "How long now— before the influx of SJWs, white knights, spammers, heard-mentalists, opinion-manipulators, agenda'd parties and subtle advertisers that flushed The Frontpage of The Internet™ down the toilet, show up?"

I guess this is why these websites' have life-cycles, and why there'll always be a need to start over. As we anxiously enter the "Golden Years" of Voat, which the majority of are still ahead, let's remember to stay vigilant and at least try to not make the same mistakes.

How long?

I'm a member of v/protectvoat and we already know they're here. Check out v/news rules, seem familiar don't they?

Wow it's as if they're trying to create a quality sub or something. THOSE MONSTERS!

Seriously though, that's a long ways away from the power-tripping micromanagement Reddit suffers from.

Huh. I like that place. Subb'd.

I wish they would. I want a diverse community who has all kinds of views, including many I disagree with. I wouldn't be here otherwise. There's enough cliques on the net to feed confirmation bias from.

I really like the discussion on voat compared to reddit. I want my favorite subs to fill up... but I also don't want the influx of immature trolls.

Fuck you, Trigger!

Just testing this thing for censorship to see if we're still good.

Hey, well fuck you, too, buddy. Next time try and ping me, @dixiedownunder. That way it's like you're telling it to my face.

It's really not a 'rough' system. It's fairly complex. Granted, it's not a perfect system but it works most of the time.

It does here at least. With the reddit downvoat brigades :/

I'd love to see downvote brigading become a thing on facebook.

It'd make the Ellen Pao saga look like child's play.

I prefer this system to facebook.

I works most of the time, but I wish Atko would improve it a little.

Improvements are always welcome but Atko isn't the only one working on Voats systems. Atko just got a great job offer and moved so he (she?) is doing less work on voat at the moment. And since it's such a small group of admin's we have to be patient anyway.

I agree. I've tried to build a few up but it doesn't stick. Seems like everyone that's so proud of voat doesn't leave /v/news, /v/politics, /v/technology, and /v/protectvoat.

We're starting to gain traction again. People on Reddit are getting tired with how shit the front page has gotten since they fucked with the algorithm (facebook scooping them with the "bomb" clock story) and have said they're checking out voat.

FPH and various racist posts aren't making the front page here like it used to so that would indicate that there's an influx of users outside of the niche groups that currently reside here.

It'll pick up on /v/nba soon. I honestly have nothing to add to the pacers sub at the moment because there really hasn't been any high interest news.

Unless of course, Melo being outed by a stripper is big news. Lol.

RIP Moses Malone.

A subreddit dedicated to Voat but apparently it has been flooded with anti-voat sentiment. I wouldn't personally know though since I don't go there.

An almost entirely anti-voat sub.

I've got to stop leaving the same comment, but...

Reddit is garbage. I go back on a weekly basis (to get more content) and it's rough going from Voat to Reddit. The awful "jokes," the people looking for an excuse to be offended, etc.

Thanks for being you, Voat. Especially, thanks for the lack of pun threads

I feel like this will keep people away from voat. https://slimgur.com/image/EDf

Unfortunately it's only a temporary shield. 4chan used to have the same aura, the "darkside" of the internet with all kinds of crazy stuff like "CP", but people slowly realized it was mainly a place for teens to shittalk each other.

Voat will loose its teeth one day.

Good. Let people think that. Let Reddit keep the herd that eats up dank memes and Voat will be the place where authentic conversations can actually occur.

Yeah. I'd be fine with Voat just staying Voat, instead of "aspiring" to become a new Reddit. Reddit sucks, Facebook sucks. Why wouldn't a humongous Voat suck?
