Smart parents should be restricting internet access the same way I got access to the TV. I'm really pissed off my EX got my 11 year old an iPhone with a data plan. She's complaining about how dangerous the world is yet here she is giving a child unfiltered access to the web and social media. It's infuriating. People don't want to be parents anymore and blame everyone else when their kid gets in trouble with this shit. I confiscate it on my weekend and her step dad goes apeshit on me because she wouldn't respond to them over facebook? What the hell does an 11 year old need to be on facebook for? It's insane.

Smart parents should get children to learn to restrict their own time on internet

That would require good parenting...

It's not just time, it's the things they do on the internet.

What the hell does an 11 year old need to be on facebook for?

Part of that, is knowing how much time is being spent there.

Children don't always have the smartest parents.

Filters are very easily circumvented even for children, why bother?

Who the fuck said anything about filters? I'm talking about physically making it impossible for them.
