Let's not forget this is the company that fired its CEO and founder for having politically incorrect views.

This is the shape of things to come, Voat. Better think twice before opening your mouths.

Better think twice before opening your mouths.

In the end, it was little brother who struck hardest. Who would have guessed we'd do this to ourselves. All the while afraid of those in power doing it to us... we'd put the shackles on our own necks and lock them to iron balls of "inoffensive speech". Handing ourselves and our children's futures to the ones we hated all along... all because we didn't want to offend someone who needed to be offended to open their mind.

Shit like this is why I deliberately lie and spread misinformation about my position in my company when posting. These sick sad sacks of shit will stop at nothing to ruin innocent people that fail to use the proper (according to them) language, much less people that actually disagree with them, SJCs are a fucking plague, and need to be smacked down wherever they spring up.

There's a scattershot of different Firefox forks of various kinds, some general-purpose and some specific.

IMO we're going to see more forks in the future. Hopefully one or two will emerge as dominant enough to still be relevant, since everything I've seen on Firefox indicates it's on course to self-destruct in the next few years, especially since they're systematically executing the features that give most people the reasons they bother with it in the first place.

Why don't people realize it's been sucking for ten years - it was clear they were SJWankers when they release FF3.0 - then did nothing - it was a communist u/dystopia over there - nobody doing anything, no direction or ownership, everyone fracturing off their own flagship "project" - it was a cluster fuck, then I remember seeing that pink haired fucktarded buffon representing mozilla at a tech talk and thinking "ok, now I know why Firefox 4.0 will never be" and I was right, it become Firefox 4-40 a bullshit "me too" release, triggered by the release of chrome and the SJWfeel tears from the fucktards who work there.

Mocking a nose piercing and dyed hair constitutes hate speech now? I mean, I understand the quotes are generalizations and not nice but hate speech?

"Let's make hate speech illegal" is a slippery slope for this exact reason, now making fun of fashion statements = hate speech.

I made the mistake of getting back on reddit because I wanted to see if there were any news stories on North Korea that I might be missing over the weekend, and I made the mistake of trying to make a reasonable comment. Some dipshits started to argue with me and then hurled insults, and as this is on /r/worldnews, they have a zero tolerance policy for even the slightest of insults, so the other guy's comments were deleted. Then MY comments were deleted, despite the fact that I didn't insult anyone even a little bit, even after the dipshits insulted me. I messaged the mods asking them on what grounds my comments were deleted and one of them replied to me in a hostile tone that I was "engaging in a ridiculous string of comments that contributed nothing to the discussion", which is not at all against the rules as they are stated in their rules list. I asked them to clarify what rules that was breaking, and the jackass then quoted "please never feed the trolls" as the rule I was breaking, even though it's not a rule. He then ignored me when I called him out on his petty bullshit censoring.

Reddit is full of faggots. Never go there for anything.

OH MY GOD, HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO CHANGE BROWSERS TO FIND A NON-FEMINIST COMPANY!?

First I changed from Google after its bullshit privacy settings, now Firefox's CEO pulls this one. I'm sure Safari and Explorer aren't that good either because Apple and M$...

Fuck this, I'm downloading Opera.

Opera? You might want to look up Pale Moon. It was forked from Firefox and is now sufficiently different to be called its own browser. It's like Firefox how it used to be: lean, mean, and without any of the random crap like Pocket and Australis that Mozilla has forced upon users.

First I changed from Google after its bullshit privacy settings,

Everyone is always talking shit about Google but no one ever backs that shit up with facts.

Chrome fucking rules. And Google has been suing the shit out of people who are trying to fuck over privacy, and open source. They also just added file system and directory-level encryption to the Linux kernel so they can padlock entire Android systems (from the government) without bogging down the CPU. And as a bonus, all of our Linux systems get a working encryption system for free. And all of the code is open source so you don't even have to trust them that it works.

They're mounting air quality monitoring systems to all of their Google maps cars so that we can finally sue the balls off of polluting corporations that lie--because poor towns can't afford to run their own systems and the validity of their "homemade" air monitors would be questioned.

Am I saying they're squeaky clean? Hardly. But they're not fucking removing games with the confederate flag, like Apple. They're not kicking people out of their company who don't support gay marriage, like Mozilla. Projects that resist social justice shit don't get taken down, like at Github.

I welcome anyone to give clear, credible evidence of Google fucking up. But all I ever see is "They're selling out data! They're the devil!" as if every single other company in the world isn't already doing the same thing (and worse!)--companies that you willingly associate with every day. Have a credit card? Enjoy people going through every one of your purchases, and giving it to the police at a moments notice! Have a drivers license? Enjoy your mugshot being randomly displayed at "line ups" during courts trials. My father was on a jury, only to see my brother on a line up alongside other random shots and the actual criminal... because he fit the description of black hair, goatee, and height. You're a random number generator's toss from showing up at court proceedings.

Literally one search away:

http://theamericangenius.com/tech-news/hidden-google-chrome-privacy-issues-know/

http://lifehacker.com/5763452/what-data-does-chrome-send-to-google-about-me

All I had to type was "google chrome privacy issues". The articles are old as all fuck, sure. But if they were like that past 4 years, now they're worse. Remember "Don't be evil"? Good shit. Now it's "You can make money without doing evil".

Everyone is always talking shit about Google but no one ever backs that shit up with facts.

I welcome anyone to give clear, credible evidence of Google fucking up.

Hmmm... let me try!

@Warden 's claim was about Chrome's privacy

October 7, 2008 CNET reports Chrome sends everything that you type in the address bar to Google http://www.cnet.com/news/googles-omnibox-could-be-pandoras-box/

December 11, 2008 - Chrome's initial stable public release

2010: Microsoft produces a video about ways Chrome doesn't respect user privacy and IE does http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Google-Chrome-internet-explorer-ie8-Privacy,10050.html

2013: FSF Lists Chrome as a program with remote access from Google http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-software-even-more-important.en.html

2014: Security bug in Chrome allows others to use Microphone to record user: https://www.talater.com/chrome-is-listening/

2015: Rick Falkvigne reports that Chrome installs a plugin secretly, that bypasses free/open source review process and listens to the room with the computer running Chrome: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/blog/2015/06/google-chrome-listening-in-to-your-room-shows-the-importance-of-privacy-defense-in-depth/

It seems like even from the pre-release version up until the present version Chrome has been the subject of privacy abuse scandals.

They're mounting air quality monitoring systems to all of their Google maps cars so that we can finally sue the balls off of polluting corporations that lie--because poor towns can't afford to run their own systems and the validity of their "homemade" air monitors would be questioned.

This part is wicked cool! But - it doesn't have anything to do with Chrome's privacy

But they're not fucking removing games with the confederate flag, like Apple

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/06/23/google-confederate-flag_n_7649306.html

But all I ever see is "They're selling out data! They're the devil!"

They do that too, you're right. That's why people are so concerned about what Chrome does with your auto complete data.

2011: User explains how hidden fields on websites can abuse Chrome autofill to collect user information https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/xfKNQMlce9w

2011: Blog explains the same https://www.julianevansblog.com/2011/09/google-chrome-autofill-privacy-and-security-issues.html

2011: Stackoverflow post answers which regular expressions in html Chrome autofill uses to fill out form information http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7223168/how-to-trigger-autofill-in-google-chrome

All of those are without even sending the data to Google

Google has been suing the shit out of people who are trying to fuck over privacy

Google wants your privacy all to themselves.

edit: Sorry, I guess I'll need to be more blatant.

http://www.salon.com/2014/02/05/4_ways_google_is_destroying_privacy_and_collecting_your_data_partner/

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/apr/18/corporations-google-should-not-sell-customer-data

http://upstart.bizjournals.com/news/technology/2013/08/15/6-data-categories-google-collects.html?page=all

... ironically, you can just Google it and quite few hair-raising things will pop up, and we're not even at the level of them floating balloons over countries full of uneducated people, supplying them information and having them track/record/point us as they drive our cars. Anyhow, Google is not a nice company, they are in the business of altering your behaviour just like any other ad agency, but at a massive scale.

Can Fandoms Fix Tech's Gender Gap?

I just... HHAHAHHAHAHAHAHH

Fandoms

AHHAHAHAH FANDOMS HOLY SHIT

I saw the title, I was like "nah fuck that". I heard the typical whiny-ass voice, I was like "I need to see how feminist this one is, how much feminism is running through xir/xyr veins". I saw her hair + body and... let's just say she doesn't do much exercise, which isn't that strange, nerds and geeks can have a healthy lifestyle too! What a surprise ain't it?

I've never heard about this company, don't know what they sell or who they do business with, but I'll stay away.

Also, that title is pretty much "feels before reals".

God fucking dammit. Can just ONE company stop jack-shitting us around?

I've been a Firefox user/advocate for YEARS, since like FireFox 3 came out. Any time people I know run into issues with Chrome (which seems to be happening more and more as of late) I always recommend Firefox.

And now they're pulling this shit, and it seems like their entire direction is changing.

So, when /u/aioyama says "she and the rest of her blue-haired nose-pierced asshole feminists are gone" that is "crossing the line from criticism to hate speech, I'm talking about when you start saying 'someone's kind doesn't belong here, and we'll all be happy when they're gone.'"

But, when Beard and the blue-haired nose-pierced asshole feminists complain about anyone, and demand that they be fired, that's perfectly fine.

Complaining that too many non-POC or queers are in "positions of power" is okay, but saying you are glad that someone who is blatantly discriminatory is gone is hate-speech.

The old CEO got harassed out because of his political beliefs and a new SJW approved CEO took over. Oh, and that is also the same time firefox started putting trackers and bloatware into its browsers. I abandon firefox about the time the CEO was replaced. There are a couple of extensions that firefox has that there is not an equivalent for on other browsers that I use on a couple of sites, but that is it. I miss the old firefox.

Pocket force enabled, Firefox Hello! (which is basically an advertisement for Telefónica) force enabled, and ads in the start screen.

Of course, this can all be disabled, but it's not easy for people who aren't tech-savvy and it's also a pain in the ass.
