Usually, when a battery is charged, it gradually starts degrading and this is why you need replace the battery in most electronics after a few years. By changing the electrolyte to a solid, however, this degradation is stemmed and would allow the battery to potentially undergo "hundreds of thousands of cycles" of recharging and discharging.

Uhm... what??? You mean like a normal everyday Dry Cell?

I would love batteries to be integrated in devices, to save space and increase capacity. Really, i only met one or two girls that carried a charged battery for the cellphone.

Yes there are applications for "forever" batteries ( AA rechargeables with no cycle life would be awesome), but do we really need that in most consumer devices? What's the point of a forever battery in a laptop or cellphone if they are obsolete after a few years anyway?
