Right. So, they can mold metalic glass. Great. You think dropping an iphone was bad before? Wait until your entire phone shatters, instead of just the screen. Or better yet, what happens to the crystals holding all that potential energy when the battery (that you can't remove) heats up?
Can someone explain to me why this patent is needed by apple at all?

How can they patent a process that broad anyway? The patent office needs to stop these overly broad crap patents

Metallic glass is different than regular glass and isn't likely to shatter and is stronger than (2x-3x) steel making it equivalent to titanium or aluminum . It's used in some golf club heads and doesn't shatter.
