If a product is free, you're the product.

Unless it's free as in freedom.

This is the retardation infecting the internet. "IF THE PRODUCT IS FREE, YOU'RE THE PRODUCT" just stop. Linux is free, dropbox, torrents, etc.. And what about ad based free products? When was the last time you clicked on an AD online and BOUGHT something? Stop being stupid.

It's not free though. OEM is around $100 and the full version around $200. They granted an upgrade to users of their recently purchased software, but windows 10 is not "free".

but windows 10 is not "free"

Case in point: pirated 7 and 8/.1 users also get the OS "free" - because they are collecting NSA levels of data on each user of the OS (regardless whether you turn the collection off).

I read it somewhere, you can't. Maybe sometime in near future.

I switched back to 8.1 as well. Fun little experiment for a minute, but I encountered a pretty substantial bug that would auto-update folder views in file manager, effectively making using the computer to move, rename, sort, and open files all but impossible. Google turned up bunk, except one support thread asking about it and the tech rep going "uhh... weird, I dunno."

Plus the privacy stuff, now this? I'm cool, no thanks Microsoft.
