i graduated compsci from a shit state uni and didnt learn anything but how to pass

Welcome to Western education. This is literally how everything operates these days, which is why there hasn’t been any intellectual progression since the 1960s.

when it comes to appearing like im a good candidate for a job, idk what to do

Apply what you learned in a programmatic sense. Come up with a problem (preferably within the department to which you’ll be applying) and devise a solution for it. It doesn’t matter if a solution has already been found for that specific problem; the point is in showing, as part of a portfolio, your personal ability to solve problems SUCH as that.

ive applied to over 300 jobs

That sounds wrong. Define ‘graduated’, then

fuck those h1b1 phaggots

Put “Indian subcontinent” on your resume, then. If anyone questions you in the interview, say, “Yes, I’m Indian. Is that a problem?”

Well, java’s on the way out. Python was the next one rising, last I heard. Plenty of applications for that where previously you’d use C++. And then there’s always learning Swift if you want a truly modern language and plan to be doing work on the big world of apps (like for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, OS X, etc.).
