Legs aren't as good as wheels, two legs aren't as good as four, and we don't have good legs for running (should be digitigrade...Like furries curiously enough).
Ultimately we are designed for endurance, going slow for a long distance in different climates and environments.
We are also highly specialized with our arms, precise accurate movements, perfect for throwing a rock or spear.

best internal combustion engines on earth are only 40% efficient and those are highly specialized and only work in a narrow temperature and rpm range. it's not that strange if you aren't scientifically illiterate.
