Interesting video. Looks like a healthier society back then.

These are the women feminists cite when they point to women dominating early computing history and the patriarchy ultimately holding them back. I don't want to diminish their contributions, but for the most part they weren't writing the program logic or designing the computers.

These women generally had jobs akin to specialized secretaries, they did things like load stacks of punch cards into machines in precise order and other grunt work that the mathematicians didn't want to do.

There are in fact a few women computing pioneers and its reasonable if women want to cite them as role models, but if you look at popular blogs today that talk about computer history, they act as if these early women programmers were responsible for everything.
