This causes some concern, because as we all know the hard part is killing the bacteria/cancer in vivo... It's easy to kill an individual colony, just dump bleach on it.
However, the last sentence gives us some hope. If the 470 nm range is proven to be a safe, effective option, it might catch on and help a lot of people :)

People who grow "smoke" have been working under these lights for decades. The manufactures of these bulbs don't have a history of cancer litigation. This is a mature technology which could be used for a medicial use.
