If there's one question I never imagined someone would one day ask me it's this one

--"So... What's the desktop..."

-"What do you mean...It's that, right there"

--"What do you mean... What 'that', where?"

-"Well there, just there, right under the mouse pointer, it's an always open folder on top of all the rest of the folders if you will..."

To be fair, it's not exactly an intuitive name. "Workspace" might have been more descriptive to someone like him.

Then you have the "ok, so now you have files, and folders. While in reality everything is files. But folders are special files.And when you double click on this folder, on your desktop, it opens a window..."
