To be pedantic, the Broadcom NIC and optional SAS controller need their own blob firmware, but with the IOMMU there really isn't a risk, since you should be encrypting your network traffic and disk storage anyway.

Besides, someone's already working on reverse engineering the NIC firmware anyway.

Still, it's the closest thing to owner-controlled hardware you can get.

What system are you thinking of?

Even some of the libreboot systems still rely on hardware with proprietary Embedded Controllers.

RISC-V stuff could be promising, but even there some pre-reset-vector code may be proprietary.
