The people with both the lack of moral character and the funds to do it already control the currency.

They simply used the money their families have been printing to buy all the currency when it was young. These types of expenditures to anyone else would be an "opportunity cost". The wealthy dynasties which control the world don't think of money the same way others do. Other people see money as a means of survival, while they see it as a means of control.

If a blockchain the size of Ethereum was hacked at this scale, it would not go undetected or unpunished. But they don't need to, they just bought enough coins along the way to control it using normal market means like sell walls.

So, this is a news story about how someone is advertising that they can hack a cryptocurrency that was hard forked for security issues, therefore, cryptocurrency implementations are inherently flawed. Got it.
