We've been here, and ever since 'phreaking' was discovered, there's been the highly exploited potential of hacking anything at a distance....

The future is wavelength technologies. Whether it's sending signals, blocking signals, doesn't really matter what wave form either, could be; light, sound... Can't forget "all matter is just energy condensed to a slow vibration", with all things having their resonance and tones that make them resonate. That's why there are a few years Stradivarius violins that are priceless due to the growth patterns in the wood in that era, best tonal quality to be had.

Think about it though, it's done become easy to see who is hacking through fiber optic computer lines, would it not be easy to set up a tonal shield around some hardware and it be sensitive to targeted resonance intrusions?

Best way to fuck with phone lines being monitored though; monotone in unison with those you talk to....... Make it sound like a timed prerecorded conversation with yourself.........

Regarding tonal shielding for fiber optic lines-- that's not how it works. Pulses of light are being used to transmit 1's and 0's down the cable. You can't selectively filter a wavelength of an attacker because that isn't how the technologies work.
